Quick answers for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
- Where can I get the early bottles and Bug-Catching Net?
- In Kakariko, buy the Bottle from the merchant beside pots for 100 rupees. Then find the long tavern in the south of town: with a Bottle owned, speak to the sick boy in the blue-roofed house immediately north of it for the Net. Leave his house and walk straight south through the gap in the bushes into the tavern's back wall, which hides a rear door; lift the pots and open the chest for a second Bottle. Select the Net and use Y to catch a fairy in an empty Bottle.
- Does this route collect every Piece of Heart?
- No. It collects optional bottles, equipment, health, and travel upgrades when they materially reduce risk or avoid an inconvenient return trip.
Prepare before entering Desert Palace
The Book of Mudora opens Desert Palace. The Ice Rod is needed much later against Trinexx in the seventh Dark World dungeon; collect it on this approach to avoid a late return to Lake Hylia.
- Dash into Kakariko’s Library bookcase beneath the green book to knock down the Book of Mudora.
- Take the Ice Rod from the bombed cave southeast of Lake Hylia.
- Carry a red potion or bottled fairy once bottles are available.
